Comparação entre o uso da bicicleta ergométrica e caminhada no teste de seis minutos

Dez alunos da academia do Clube Atlético Monte Líbano, jovens, saudáveis, do sexo feminino, com idade média de 22 anos (± 1,13), peso 54 kg(± 6,15) e altura 160 cm(± 5,42) foram submetidos ao tradicional teste de caminhada de seis minutos e a bicicleta ergométrica sem carga, também por seis minutos, com a finalidade de comparar os dois testes. Observamos que os dois testes promoveram alterações na freqüência cardíaca (FC), respiratória (FR), pressão arterial média (PAM), e na saturação de oxigênio (Sat O2), mostrando-se estatisticamente semelhantes, porém para que o indivíduo consiga atingir tais alterações na bicicleta ergométrica, ele deve ser muito mais incentivado que na caminhada e os indivíduos na bicicleta referiram fadiga na musculatura da coxa, especialmenteem quadríceps. A caminhada mostrou ser um método mais simples, embora necessite de maior espaço físico para sua aplicação.
