Esteróides anabolizantes: história, mecanismos de funcionamento e efeitos colaterais

Resumo

O número de usuários de esteroides anabolizantes é crescente em todo o mundo e a automedicação se torna um problema devido í  imensa quantidade de efeitos colaterais que essas drogas podem trazer a saúde sem a devida prescrição médica. A quantidade de efeitos colaterais é visivelmente maior do que o número de efeitos desejáveis, mas, mesmo assim, a conscientização parece não ser muito importante para estes indiví­duos, mesmo que isso lhes custe a vida. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar um pouco da história dos anabolizantes, como funcionam após a sua administração e alguns efeitos, desejáveis e colaterais, além de descrever relatos encontrados na literatura.
