Caracterí­sticas funcionais e fisiológicas do destreinamento: força e morfologia muscular

Resumo

Estudos têm demonstrado que o destreinamento causa reversões nas adaptações morfológicas e fisiológicas alcançadas com o treinamento. Em perí­odo médio/longo há uma significativa redução na força muscular dinâmica e estática concomitante com uma diminuição da atividade eletromiográfica. A atrofia das fibras musculares ocorre tanto em atletas como em não-atletas, principalmente nas fibras do tipo II. Quanto í  imobilização, observa-se que perí­odos entre 3-6 semanas reduzem a força concêntrica e excêntrica. Perí­odos superiores a duas semanas causam atrofia muscular sendo esta a maior conseqüência da imobilização, exacerbada com a imobilização em posição encurtada. A redução na força está associada a menor ativação muscular, diminuindo inclusive os receptores de acetilcolina na placa motora.
