Sociodemographic, environmental, human biology and sleep quality aspects of health workers: cross-sectional study

Abstract

Objective: To measure sociodemographic, environmental, human biology and sleep quality aspects of Primary Care health professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive study, with the application of sociodemographic, work, human biology and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index questionnaires to health professionals from Family Health Units in a Sanitary District in the city of Salvador from March to May de 2021. Results: 74.29% of participants had poor sleep quality; 65.71% were overweight and 30.48% reported hypertension. The noise in the work environment was considered high by 58.10% of professionals. Conclusion: Health workers had poor sleep quality levels. Health care for these workers must be prioritized by health managers in order to provide not only well-being, but also the quality of the services offered.
