Medios de comunicación y comportamiento sexual de jóvenes: revisión de alcance

Resumen

Objetivo: Mapeo de la producción de conocimiento científico sobre el consumo de medios de comunicación y las conductas sexuales de riesgo entre los jóvenes. Métodos: Revisión de alcance, cuya cuestión fue elaborada de acuerdo con la estrategia PECO, realizada en las bases de datos: Literatura Latinoamericana y del Caribe en Ciencias de la Salud (Lilacs); Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (Medline) por el portal PubMed; Web of Science y en Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). Un total de 4.270 publicaciones fueron identificadas y 14 artículos elegibles. Resultados: Se observó la influencia de los medios de comunicación en el comportamiento sexual de riesgo, exponiendo a los jóvenes a daños psicológicos, a infecciones sexualmente transmisibles, inicio precoz en las relaciones sexuales, y  múltiples parejas sexuales. Conclusión: La sexualidad como producto de consumo de los medios de comunicación puede contribuir para una práctica sexual precoz, insegura, violenta, desprotegida, con parejas múltiples y casuales.
