Comparação do reposicionamento da cabeça em jovens assintomáticos e com dor cervical

A dor cervical é uma das principais condições musculoesqueléticas responsáveis por provocar limitações funcionais. O comprometimento de músculos profundos da coluna cervical pode alterar as informações do sistema proprioceptivo cervical e consequentemente suas interações com o sistema vestibular e visual. O estudo buscou comparar a capacidade de reposicionamento da cabeça em jovens assintomáticos e com dor cervical mecânica. Participaram 60 voluntários sendo 43 assintomáticos e 17 com história de dor cervical mecânica. Avaliou-se a capacidade de reposicionamento da cabeça com os participantes sentados, vendados, utilizando um capacete com um laser pointer fixado. Os participantes realizaram 6 repetições do movimento de rotação e as diferenças entre o posicionamento inicial e final eram mensuradas em centímetros (erro absoluto-EA) e convertidas em graus. A diferença entre os grupos foi realizada por meio do teste de Mann-Whitney com p ≤ 0,05. Para as rotações direita e esquerda as médias do EA foram: no grupo com dor cervical 6,1 e 4,7 graus e no assintomático 5,3 e 5,3 graus. Não houve diferença na capacidade de reposicionamento da cabeça entre os grupos. É possível que outros fatores associados a dor contribuam para o comprometimento da cinestesia cervical.
