Eficácia do fortalecimento muscular excêntrico na tendinopatia lateral do cotovelo

Introdução: A tendinopatia lateral do cotovelo caracteriza-se como uma lesão ortopédica bastante comum. Trata-se de um transtorno do uso excessivo que promove o progressivo enfraquecimento da organização interna dos tendões. Objetivo: O presente estudo teve como objetivo verificar a eficácia do exercício de fortalecimento muscular excêntrico sobre a tendinopatia lateral do cotovelo, por meio de uma revisão sistemática da literatura internacional. Métodos: A presente revisão sistemática buscou seguir as recomendações da declaração PRISMA. Foi realizada uma busca sistemática por estudos nos bancos de dados virtuais Pubmed e PEDro, para tanto foram utilizadas os seguintes descritores combinados: Eccentric, tendinopathy, elbow. Para avaliar a qualidade dos estudos foi utilizada a escala de qualidade PEDro. Resultados: Quatro artigos atenderam os critérios de elegibilidade e foram incluídos no estudo. Todos os estudos selecionados caracterizavam-se como ensaios clínicos com amostra randomizadas e presença de grupo controle, possuíam participantes de ambos os gêneros com diagnóstico clínico de tendinopatia lateral do cotovelo, todos os estudos obtiveram nota superior a 6 na escala PEDro. Conclusão: Observou-se, nos estudos apresentados, que exercício de fortalecimento excêntrico é uma ferramenta bastante útil no manejo de pacientes com tendinopatia lateral crônica. Foi possível perceber resultados satisfatórios nos quesitos dor, força muscular, função e resolução do caso. Nessa perspectiva, sugere-se que o programa de tratamento fisioterapêutico utilize-se dessa técnica com melhora na qualidade de vida do paciente e redução de gastos pelo setor público, esportivo e pelo próprio paciente.
