Introduction: Zumba is currently one of the more appreciated dance modalities. It improves self-esteem and provides well-being, as well as providing physiological benefits. Objective: To evaluate the nutritional status and physical fitness related to the health of zumba Teresina/PI practitioners. Methods: Descriptive and cross-sectional study with quantitative approach. Sample composed of 63 women aged 20 to 63 years. For the data collection, a sociodemographic, weight and height questionnaire was used to classify the body mass index, the flexibility and localized muscular resistance of the abdomen. In the analysis of the data, a descriptive statistic, with values of mean and standard deviation and an inferential statistic, chi-square test to evaluate the association between qualitative variables was used. Data analyzed in STATA 12.0 software, significance level 5%. Results: They showed that 53.97% of the women surveyed were 41 to 63 years old, 36.51% high school completed, 44.44% income less than a minimum wage, 47.61% had 3 to 11 months of zumba, 36.51% overweight, 46.03% above-average flexibility and excellent localized muscular resistance. Statically significant association was found between age and flexibility and MLR, in which the older women presented better results (p = 0.05 and p = 0.0000, respectively). Conclusion: The physical fitness of the women surveyed at zumba was good, with the majority ranking above average for flexibility and localized muscular resistance. However, despite practicing aerobic physical activity, most were overweight. In addition, older women presented better statically significant results regarding levels of flexibility and localized muscular resistance.
