Síndrome do subdesempenho físico no futebolista?

O futebol é um esporte de exercícios intermitentes com extensas demandas energéticas, cujas repercussões metabólicas contribuem com o estado de fadiga crescente durante alguns jogos. Os três momentos mais críticos para a fadiga são: a qualquer momento com a redução dos piques subsequentes, no início do segundo tempo e a queda da distância e dos piques nos 15 minutos finais e prorrogação do jogo. Treinamentos físicos específicos, ao esporte e as posições dos jogadores, e nutrição adequada do atleta são recomendados para manter o ritmo físico uniforme dos jogadores durante a partida. Entretanto, combinações persistentes da carga excessiva com período de repouso (recuperação) inadequado podem levar o atleta ao estado de não compensação (descondicionamento ou estagnação física). A supercompensação física que ocorre nas 72 horas pós-jogo poderão ocorrer í custa da deterioração do desempenho anaeróbio ocorrida no período. Entretanto, apesar de resultados de fadiga aguda e redução do rendimento atlético, dados científicos sobre supratreinamento em futebolistas são raros e mais ainda a presença da síndrome do subdesempenho ou do supratreinamento. Nenhum dos 12 estudos levantados preencheu os critérios científicos que justificariam a existência desta síndrome em futebolistas.
