Intensidade auto selecionada, percepção subjetiva de esforço e tempo sob tensão no treinamento resistido em adolescentes

O objetivo deste estudo foi determinar a intensidade auto-selecionada, o tempo sob tensão e a percepção subjetiva de esforço no treinamento resistido em adolescentes sem experiência. Dezesseis adolescentes do sexo masculino (15,00 ± 0,97 anos; 59,23 ±10,37 kg; 1,70 ± 0,09; 12,23 ± 5,49 % de gordura; Tanner 4), realizaram duas semanas de familiarização no exercício supino na máquina sentado, logo após realizaram o protocolo de intensidade auto selecionada, o teste de 10RM em ambos os protocolos foram medidos o tempo sob tensão e a percepção subjetiva de esforço. Os resultados demonstram que os valores da carga auto selecionada, do tempo sob tensão e da percepção subjetiva de esforço foram 56,44%, 38,36% e 51,16% significativamente inferiores aos valores obtidos durante o teste de 10RM. Portanto, adolescentes inexperientes não podem auto-selecionar uma intensidade suficiente para estimular uma melhora significativa na força muscular, e estão mais suscetíveis a riscos decorrentes de repetições realizadas em alta velocidade com baixa resistência.
