Nutrição de futebolistas infantis e juvenis

O presente estudo teve como objetivo traçar o perfil nutricional de jogadores de futebol e discutir a adequação dietética com as necessidades para esse esporte. A amostra foi composta de 20 jogadores infantis e 20 jogadores juvenis. Para avaliar o hábito alimentar, aplicou-se o questionário recordatório alimentar e os dados foram analisados no software de análise de macro e micronutrientes (DietWin, 2003). Os resultados encontrados demonstraram uma adequação calórica em 40% dos atletas juvenis e apenas 20% dos atletas infantis. A adequação dos macronutrientes na categoria juvenil foi de 50% (CHO), 50% (proteínas) e 60% (lipídeos). Já a categoria infantil apresentou uma dieta hipolipídica (50%), hipoprotéica (80%) e hiperglicídica (50%). Sobre os micronutrientes encontrou-se um consumo abaixo do recomendado (< 70% adequação) em vitamina C, vitamina A, cálcio e cobre, além de uma ingestão excedente (> 110% adequação) de ferro para as duas categorias. Esses resultados permitem concluir que é necessário que se faça uma intervenção nutricional nesse grupo de atletas, tanto para otimizar o desempenho como para garantir uma prática mais saudável para os grupos estudados.
