A influência da plataforma vibratória na melhora do equilíbrio e prevenção de quedas de uma mulher pós-menopáusica com osteopenia

Osteporose e osteopenia são doenças que reduzem a densidade dos ossos, deixando-os mais propensos a fraturas. A aplicação de exercícios de equilíbrio estático pode melhorar a capacidade funcional e o equilíbrio em idosos. Além disso, os exercícios melhoram a qualidade de vida e previnem quedas. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a influência da plataforma vibratória na melhora do equilíbrio e na prevenção de quedas em uma mulher pós-menopáusica com osteopenia. Foi recrutada para a pesquisa uma mulher com 84 anos de idade. Foram realizados testes de equilíbrio funcional através da Berg Balance Scale (BBS). O protocolo consistia em uma rotina de treino de 6 semanas, variando a intensidade de frequência na plataforma. O resultado observado foi a melhora de equilíbrio após a intervenção. Conclui-se que a plataforma vibratória pode colaborar na prevenção de quedas em mulheres pós-menopáusicas com osteopenia.
