A Effect of whole-body vibration on cardiac function and functionality in patients with chronic non-communicable disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Resumen

Objetivo: Investigar la evidencia del uso del entrenamiento vibratorio de cuerpo entero (VCE) sobre la función y funcionalidad autonómica cardíaca en pacientes con enfermedades crónicas no transmisibles relacionadas con los sistemas cardiovascular, respiratorio y metabólico. Métodos: La búsqueda abarcó las bases de datos MEDLINE/PubMed, LILACS, PEDro y Scopus. Los ensayos controlados aleatorios o cuasialeatorios fueron elegibles para esta revisión cuando compararon un grupo de pacientes con enfermedades cardiovasculares, respiratorias o metabólicas que entrenaron con VCE con un grupo control sin intervención u otras modalidades de entrenamiento. Resultados: Se incluyeron doce estudios. Se realizaron análisis de subgrupos teniendo en cuenta el tamaño de la muestra y la edad de los participantes.El entrenamiento WBV mejoró el equilibrio simpatovagal y redujo la presión arterial sistólica en pacientes con obesidad e hipertensión. Hubo una tendencia a un aumento de la distancia recorrida en la prueba de marcha de seis minutos (PM6) en pacientes con EPOC y una disminución de la frecuencia cardíaca (FC) en mujeres con sobrepeso u obesidad e hipertensión después de VCE, pero sin diferencia entre los grupos. No se observaron repercusiones en pacientes trasplantados renales. Conclusión: VCE puede ser una modalidad de entrenamiento alternativa para mejorar la función autonómica cardíaca y la presión arterial sistólica en pacientes con obesidad e hipertensión, con evidencia de calidad moderada. Por otro lado, se sugiere que se ejecuten estudios más amplios para evaluar el efecto del VCE en resultados como la distancia recorrida en el PM6, la FC, el VO2max, la presión arterial diastólica, la velocidad de la marcha y el equilibrio.
