IMPACTO DE PILATES EN LA CALIDAD DE VIDA DE PACIENTES CON ENFERMEDAD RENAL CRÓNICA: UNA REVISIÓN SISTEMÁTICA

Introducción: La evolución de la Enfermedad Renal Crónica (ERC) es silente y asintomática, lo que dificulta el diagnóstico en la fase inicial. Los pacientes con ERC presentan inactividad física, pérdida de masa muscular y disminución de la capacidad funcional, estos cambios provocan efectos deletéreos, afectando significativamente la calidad de vida. Las mialgias, la fatiga, los trastornos del sueño y la disfunción sexual contribuyen significativamente a la disminución de la calidad de vida (QoL). Objetivo: Revisar los efectos del Método Pilates en la calidad de vida de pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica. Métodos: Se trata de una revisión sistemática realizada según PRISMA. La búsqueda se realizó en diciembre de 2022 en las siguientes bases de datos: Google Scholar, Scielo, Lilacs, CINAHL, Pubmed, PEDro, Web of Science y el Registro Cochrane Central de Revisión Sistemática. Para realizar la búsqueda literaria se utilizó la estrategia PICO, donde la población estudiada fueron pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica, la intervención fue entrenamiento con el método Pilates, en comparación con pacientes que no realizaron entrenamiento ni ninguna otra intervención, y el resultado evaluado era calidad de vida. Resultados: se encontraron 3.287 artículos, de los cuales 3 fueron considerados elegibles para nuestra revisión sistemática. Todos los trabajos evaluados mostraron beneficios de la práctica de pilates en la calidad de vida de los pacientes con enfermedad renal crónica. Conclusión: La práctica de ejercicio físico con el método Pilates demostró ser eficaz para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas con enfermedad renal crónica.
