The diabetes mellitus 1 (DM1) is one of the most common chronic childhood disease. The great challenge of a diabetes education team is to obtain patients adherence to treatment. Aiming for success in metabolic control of diabetic patients, the UNIPAS (Project of Social Action of Unisinos) created the project "My Diary", that shows to patients the documentation of important aspects of their routine. These records help the health team to evaluate treatment. Our objective is to describe the behavior of a group of patients through their diaries and, after, to compare with their capillary glycemia, determining the characteristics that contributed for the best metabolic control. The statistical methods used were descriptive analyses and frequency tables. After concluding this research, we observed that the glycemic control, the correct nutrition and physical activity performance are important for treatment of diabetic patients, as they intervene in the metabolic control.
