Abstract

Objective: To verify the perception of adolescents from an integrated technical course regarding remote emergency education during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and self-reported morbidity during this period. Methods: This study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) of the Faculdade de Medicina de São José do Rio Preto and of the Instituto Federal de São Paulo. This is a study with a quantitative, descriptive and correlational approach on the Emergency Remote Learning offered to 223 students (sample) of technical and technological courses in the pandemic. For data analysis we used the Microsoft Excel® program and the Statistical Package for Social Science, version 20.0. Results: Negative impacts on the organization of the students' daily study routine were identified; a reduction in the economic power of the families; 21.1% of the students did not participate in synchronous classes; 20.6% were not satisfied with the course. There was an increase in medication use. There was an increase in health problems such as stomach aches, headache, other pain, difficulty sleeping and staying asleep, concentration problems, forgetfulness, anxiety, stress, frustration, boredom, discouragement, and other discomforts and weaknesses. Conclusion: The relationships between teacher and student need to be rebuilt, renewed, and the restructuring of the curricular trajectory needs to provide better learning conditions.
