Tratamento da lombalgia na gestação

A lombalgia gestacional é um sintoma de dor, de origem multifatorial e não totalmente elucidada, que acomete em torno de 50% das gestantes. Durante muitos anos, esta manifestação clínica vem sendo negligenciada por muitos profissionais da área da saúde, talvez por ser considerada como uma queixa inerente ao período gestacional. No entanto, recentemente, este sintoma parece receber uma maior atenção por parte dos estudiosos, por estar exercendo um enorme impacto socioeconômico. O objetivo deste estudo foi revisar a literatura científica acerca da lombalgia na gestação e identificar as medidas terapêuticas utilizadas no seu tratamento. Nesta revisão foi observada a necessidade do reconhecimento da importância da lombalgia gestacional por todos os profissionais da saúde, bem como o desenvolvimento de novas opções terapêuticas viáveis neste período.
