Mecanismos de interação do ultra-som terapêutico com tecidos biológicos

Abstract

O objetivo desse trabalho foi revisar os mecanismos e interações do ultra-som terapêutico nos diversos tecidos biológicos. Para isso, foram consultadas as bases de dados Medline, Pubmed, e Periódicos da Capes com as seguintes palavras-chaves: ultra-som terapêutico, reabilitação, fisioterapia, tecidos biológicos. Foram abordados os aspectos fí­sicos do recurso incluindo os mecanismos térmicos e não térmicos, além da sua influência sobre a temperatura e circulação, sí­ntese de colágeno, proliferação celular e reparação tecidual, sistema tegumentar e seus anexos, efeitos em processos inflamatórios e aplicações de baixa intensidade. Apesar da freqüente aplicação na fisioterapia, o ultra-som é um recurso fí­sico ainda controverso quanto alguns dos seus efeitos e suas interações com o meio biológico. Além disso, em algumas aplicações especí­ficas, os estudos ainda são escassos. Neste sentido, fica evidente a necessidade de mais investigações para determinar parâmetros fí­sicos adequados e as suas interações com o meio biológico.
