Realidade virtual em hemiparéticos crônicos: efeitos do treino no controle postural

Objetivo: O objetivo do estudo foi investigar os efeitos do treino com realidade virtual sobre o controle postural e a simetria do apoio de indivíduos hemiparéticos crônicos. Métodos: Oito indivíduos com idade média de 56,4 (±7,50) anos e diagnóstico de acidente vascular encefálico (AVE), em fase crônica, participaram do estudo. Para obtenção dos dados relativos ao centro de pressão (COP) e índice de simetria foram utilizadas plataformas de força AMTI. Resultados: Houve um aumento significativo na amplitude de deslocamento anteroposterior e na área de elipse (p ≤ 0,05). O deslocamento na direção médio-lateral, a velocidade total, os limites de estabilidade e o índice de simetria não apresentaram diferença significativa pré e pós-treino (p ≥ 0,05). Conclusão: De maneira geral, os resultados do presente estudo demonstraram que o treino isolado do equilíbrio por meio da realidade virtual em indivíduos hemiparéticos crônicos não produziu efeitos significativos nas variáveis relacionadas ao COP durante a posição estática e deslocamentos do corpo, bem como no índice de simetria.
