Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought to the world population changes of life in different areas. Objective: To describe the main changes in the life and health of adults after social isolation experienced by the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods: This is a cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study with 412 individuals, of both sexes, aged between 18 and 49 years, submitted to a virtual questionnaire about changes in life and health during social isolation in the State of Pernambuco/PE. Results: Most participants were female, with an average age of 26.18 years, claiming to have problems with social isolation, needing to adapt to a new reality regarding eating habits, hygiene and physical activity. The social isolation resulting from the pandemic triggered, in most participants in this study, symptoms such as anxiety, stress, fear, anguish, dizziness, muscle pain, especially in the spine and joint pain, especially in the knees. Conclusion: Social isolation due to COVID-19 pandemic can affect both people's lives and health, can trigger psycho-emotional diseases and make the process of social adaptation difficult.
