Introduction: Studies have shown that the practice of physical exercises is recommended to reduce the symptoms of individuals with osteoarthritis (OA). Objective: To evaluate the effect of using an intervention protocol performed in a group, on the variables of pain, function, quality of life and flexibility in individuals with knee and/or hip OA. Methods: Fifteen participants, aged 50 years or older, diagnosed with hip and/or knee OA were included in the study. The protocol was performed twice a week, totaling 10 sessions, with pre-defined goals for each week, with an evaluation being performed before and after the intervention. For the evaluation, we used the VAS for pain, LEFS and TSL questionnaires to assess functionality, the sit-and-reach test for flexibility and the SF-12 questionnaire to assess quality of life. Results: There was a significant improvement in the values of pain on movement (p = 0.005) and functionality by TSL (p = 0.003). Conclusion: The protocol applied on the parameters of pain in movement and functionality, highlighted a significant reduction in pain in activities involving movement, and greater independence.
