Abstract

Introduction: Patients with COVID-19 show signs and symptoms of a common flu and/or acute respiratory syndrome. In view of the high prevalence of patients with post-COVID-19 syndrome, the objective of this study was to review the literature regarding effective physical therapy interventions for the treatment of patients who have lost function due to COVID-19 infection. Methodology: The study was carried out in the PEDro, Pubmed, Cochrane, Scielo and Lilacs databases. The search was directed towards clinical trials and systematic research of studies experimental designs that address physiotherapeutic interventions after COVID-19 published in the last 3 years. Results: The literature search resulted in 6 articles that addressed the topic. Post COVID-19 rehabilitation consists of low-intensity aerobic training, global strength training, respiratory muscle training and functional mobility training. Conclusion: This study demonstrates the importance of performance and post-COVID-19 physiotherapeutic treatment for functional return to activities of daily living and minimization of the sequelae resulting from the infection.
