Introduction: Infantile enuresis is characterized by loss of involuntary urine at age of control, usually occuring after defrosting until adolescence. Objective: To evaluate the frequency and causes of enuresis in children aged 4 to 9 years old and to outline their sociodemographic profile. Methods: Cross-sectional, exploratory, and quantitative study, consisting of a sample of 50 parents and/or guardians of students from two schools in the city of Rio Paranaiba/MG. A semi-structure sociodemographic questionnaire prepared by the authors was used, and the enuresis evaluation form was used to verify the source of the complaint and the student’s health history. The data were analyzed using the SPSS program, version 23.0. Results: There was a prevalence of 10% of nocturnal enuresis, all female, mean age 5 ± 0.70 years and studying in public schools. 60% have not daytime urinary control, all had episodes of urine loss due to laughter and were not able to retain a reasonable amount of urine. All parents blamed the condition and enuresis bothered the child. Conclusion: There was a low incidence of nocturnal enuresis in the sample studied (10%), being higher in female children, characterizing it as polysymptomatic enuresis.
